Why Charter?
Chartering is a
deal! A person can charter many times a year for a fraction of the
cost of outfitting and maintaining a large boat. Fishing with an
experienced guide on Lake Erie ensures a trip with maximum of safety. A
guide's knowledge about fish locations, what tackle to use, and which
techniques to employ increases the probability of catching fish. A guide
will do everything possible to make your trip memorable and help you catch
your daily limit. Although fishing on Lake Erie is usually excellent, no
guide can guarantee everyone will catch a limit. Limit or not, fishing is
one sport the whole family can truly enjoy together.
"Walleye Capital of The World"
Lake
Erie has gained this reputation due to the tremendous Walleye population.
The western basin in Lake Erie is a tremendous Walleye fishery because of
the many reefs and sand bars where the walleye return each spring to
spawn. Then they remain in the western basin until mid to late August.
Smallmouth Bass are also found in the western basin in large number as are
Yellow Perch.
Many
walleye, especially the larger ones migrate to the Central Lake Erie Basin
in the peak of summer seeking cooler temperatures and baitfish.
Trophy walleyes can be taken in the deeper Central Lake Erie waters all
throughout the summer. Central Lake Erie fishermen can also
experience a great Steelhead Fishery.
Eastern
Lake Erie walleyes, although not as numerous as in the western and central
parts of Lake Erie are still plentiful in summer as many trophy-size
walleyes migrate from points west to the east during the heat of summer
fishing. Eastern Lake Erie anglers are also treated to a tremendous
steelhead fishery and the occasional Lake Trout as the Eastern Basin of
Lake Erie is much deeper and holds cooler water.
