Letter From the Captain

Dear Fisherpeople:

Spring 2001 started slow but by the end of April was quite good.  May was really good.  Summer fish started the end of May and ran through June and July.  It was probably the best 8 to 10 weeks of fishing in the Western Basin of Lake Erie since the 1980's.

The end of July and into August was fantastic.  It was even difficult to leave for Lake Michigan.

Manistee salmon started running in good numbers and size and the end of July and through August.  It was especially nice when the Coho moved in.  There were big fish and lots of wall hangers.  August still produced good walleye in Lake Erie.  Perch started slow but were good in September, October and November, when the weather would cooperate.

Overall, it was one of the best seasons in a long time.

We will run both 30' boats all season.  One leaving for Manistee the end of July through Labor Day for salmon.  The other boat remains on Lake Erie for for continuous walleye and perch charters.

    BAD WEATHER CANCELLATION
    If the captain must cancel your trip due to bad weather, you have the choice of rebooking or a refund.  You will be responsible to pay for perishable food ordered.

    Our Monroe Dock is located 1/4 mile east of I-75, Exit #11, across from Matthews Bait and Party Store.  Groceries and Fishing license available.
