Meet Captain Tom

Captain Tom Polta is owner/operator of the Nauti-C's and full time professional with over 30 years of Lake Erie experience.  He is a U.S.C.G. Licensed Ships Master and Ohio Lake Erie Guide.  He is also certified for C.P.R. and first aid trained.

Captain Tom is a member of the Lake Erie Charter Boat Association, National Association of Charter boat Operators,  U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, American Legion (Vietnam Vet), Loyal order of Moose and Maritime Consortium.

 

 

 

 

The Boat

Nauti-C's is a 30' long 11' wide sportscraft sportsfisherman powered by twin mercruiser 260 hp engines and has an enclosed cockpit and passenger area for all weather protection assuring you a smooth trouble free ride.

Vessel is equipped with

  • Marine radios and cellular phone
  • Satellite (GPS) navigation
  • Latest electronic sonar for locating fish
  • Private toilet facilities
  • All U.S. Coast Guard mandated safety equipment
  • Vessel is inspected annually by US Coast Guard


Nauti-C's is docked at B-5 Harbor Park Marina
5314 E. Marina Ave., U.S. 53 North at the 'Colorful Sailboat'

 

Rates

Drift Fishing and Spincasting (We do not troll)  for Walleye, Smallmouth or Yellow Perch

6 persons ................$100.00 per person with 6 persons
5 persons ................$100.00 per person with 5 persons
4 persons ................$100.00 per person with 4 persons
1,2, or 3  persons ....$300.00 per day with 1-3 persons

(Price includes bait, rod usage, lures.)
(Prices subject to fuel cost adjustment.)

Walleye: Bait and Ice included in price.
Smallmouth Bass: (Bait extra at market price)

Deposits
A $100.00 deposit in advance is required to
 confirm and secure your date

Lodging Accomodations

When you contract a charter we will upon receipt of deposit provide a directory of lodging for the area with recommendations so you may select the type that suits you.  The directory has maps locating the various lodgings.

Best Months for Fishing

Trophy Walleyes
Best months for a trophy are April, May and June.  Best months for limit catches are June, July and August

Smallmouth Bass
Best months for smallmouth bass are June, July, August and September.  For trophy smallmouth a trip to Canadian waters is recommended

Yellow Perch
Best months for yellow perch are July, August, and September.

 

 

Things You Should Bring

  • Camera and sunglasses
  • Soft soled shoes (tennis type), jacket, hat and rain gear
  • Your own drinks (cans only, no glass bottles) and lunch
  • Your favorite fishing rods and tackle.  We also provide at no cost unless lost or damaged
  • Valid Ohio fishing license (can be obtained at the lake)
  • Seasickness medication (start taking 2 days ahead - follow directions)
  • No hard liquor permitted (beer is allowed if in moderation)

Captain Makes all Weather Decisions
If it is necessary to cancel your trip due to weather or other circumstances your trip can be re-scheduled or deposit applied to next season.  Your safety and comfort will always come first.  Nauti-C's charters strives to make your day as enjoyable and memorable as possible.

Daylight Savings Time
Ohio is on Day Light savings time after April 1st.  If you are from another state we are one hour earlier or more.

Time to be at the Dock
Can be arranged upon receipt of deposit (prefer to depart dock at daylight).  Return to dock between 4-5 in the afternoon.
